2 Days Florida Peacock & Largemouth Bass

By Joseph LoBianco

Florida Largemouth & Peacock bassToday I had the pleasure of being with Erica & Rick Skier from Palmdale, CA for two days of South Florida bass fishing. The first day of two days we picked them up at the Hard Rock Casino and Resort and then drove to the dock. When we left the dock in Miami this morning we decided to fish for Peacock bass, this is why they traveled from California.

We ran way south of the boat ramp and fished around the mouth of mainly bridges and some canals. The bait we were using were live shiners and for artificial we threw top-water , jerk baits and rattle traps. Within minutes of our first cast Erica scored with a few nice Peacock bass. As the morning went on we caught several more with a few nice ones. This day of fishing in the Miami area was filled with a lot of stories and action.

After a nice lunch at one the local watering holes, we were back on the trailer and headed to the Hard Rock.Everglades Holiday park

On day two, I arrived at the Hard Rock Casino & Resort where they were right on time and ready to experience the Florida Everglades, as they have heard so much about.

We arrived at Everglades Holiday Park and headed out to my first location. being it was the weekend and fathers day there was a noticeable increase in boat traffic. So, we decided to make a few moves which paid off for the most part. Both, Erica & Rick caught fish at every location we stopped at, including a few bowfin which Erica seem to enjoy a lot.
