Set the hook into a hard fighting exotic species while spending quality time in the outdoors.

Two locations produce exceptionally well this time of year. Airport Lakes is located very close to the international airport. This body of water was one of the first locations peacock bass were introduced in Florida. Also, The Falls Canal System further south is a very productive location to catch peacock bass. If you are looking for a trophy bass, these are the fisheries you want to visit.

Captain Joe Gruny had the pleasure of fishing with Angelo and Janet at Miami Airport Lakes. They were traveling from Pasco County, Florida looking to get into some quality peacock bass. Action has been incredible this month and is looking to continue to get better. When the sun gets high in the sky is when these exotics really turn on.

Angelo and Janet caught several 17 fish in their quick 4 hour fishing trip. 14 of those fish were quality peacock bass. Angelo caught a nice 3.5 pound peacock bass on top water bait on the first cast. The best top water baits for peacocks are torpedoes. They also caught some nice Mayan Cichlids. It was Janet’s first time catching a peacock bass and she had an absolute blast.

Captain Joe is looking forward to their next fishing adventure in Miami!

Just shortly after this amazing fishing trip, Captain Robert Miley adventured out in the Falls Canal System. He had the pleasure of fishing with Michael and James who were traveling from the UK. Many travelers from across the globe come visit Miami and want to experience what it is all about. It was a quick 4 hour fishing trip but they got into some really nice peacock bass.

As the sun came out and started to shine, the bass got really active. You could see the bait skip on top of the water. The peacock bass were chasing them all around the canal system. Michael and James were using natural forage to catch some of these quality peacock bass.
They put over 10 bass in the boat. Michael has never fished before and this was a great introduction. Michael caught a peacock bass weighing in at 4 pounds. To top that incredible peacock bass, his son James comes in with a trophy bass weighing in at 5 pounds.

Captain Bob is looking forward to fishing with Michael and James again in the future!
