Hurricane Irma Peacock Bass Fishing

Florida Fishing Lake Ida is an adventure you must experience when traveling to the state. South Florida warm months and stormy season can lead to advanced Hurricane Irma peacock bass fishing slams that can leave you with memories of a lifetime.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Jon and Bobby traveling to South Florida from Alabama. They were excited to catch their first ever peacock bass.

It is not every day that you get to go fishing for peacock bass and they wanted to experience while they were here. They heard all the rant and raid about the hard fighters and they were in store for a great trip.

The first day was not as good as the second due to weather but we still made it happen landing several nice peacock bass. On the second day, the peacock bass turned on and the bite was incredible. The weather cleared which made for a great bite. Pressure moving in can turn them on as well.

John and Bobby caught a total of 35 peacock bass for both days. It was a slam fest and they had a blast catching the numbers. They also got to experience catching the exotic clown knife fish.

The gentlemen had a fantastic experience and they are looking forward to visiting and fishing again in the future. They loved how hard the peacock bass fought and are looking for a giant next time!
