Miami Peacock Bass Fishing Update:
Cody and his best friend Kevin were traveling from Tampa looking to catch peacock bass. After watching videos, reading reports, and doing research, they knew Miami would be the best location to catch peacock bass. If you are looking to catch a big Florida peacock bass, South Florida is the place to travel. Miami has some beautiful waters that stay productive for large bass all year long.
Captain Robert Miley had the pleasure of fishing with these guys. They explored Miami’s Airport Lakes or Blue Lagoon. One of the best parts about this fishery is that you can access Miami’s International Airport rather quickly. If you are looking to fly in quickly and get on some fish, this would be the best location for you.
Cody and Kevin explored Airport Lakes for a quick 6-hour fishing trip. When it comes to peacock bass fishing, the length of the trip is important. You want to give yourself the right amount of time to get on the bite. Peacock bass takes their time to wake up and get hungry. Once that sun gets warm, the peacock bass gets fired up.
Every day proposes different fishing conditions. On this fishing trip, everything came together just perfectly. The weather and water conditions were just right. Cody and Kevin landed over 20 Florida peacock bass on their short trip. It was an awesome day of fishing with several 4-5 pound fish. The biggest fish was caught by Kevin with a bass weighing 5 pounds. They also landed numbers of fish in the 2-3 pound range. We hope you enjoy the tape and live-action from this fishing trip.
The peacock bass tend to school up together. Captain Miley found a spot they were stacked up on and put some fish in the boat. After landing the numbers, they moved on to slow things down resulting with some big bass in the boat.
Cody and Kevin could not have been more satisfied with their fishing adventure. Captain Robert Miley is looking forward to getting back out on the water with these great friends soon!
